From Experience to Enterprise: The HT Metal Works Story
I’m the founder and CEO of HT Metal Works, and my journey here wasn’t a straight path; it was shaped by insight, experience, and a genuine desire to solve real-world challenges in engineering and manufacturing. As a qualified engineer with a bachelor’s and a distinction-level master’s degree from two of the UK’s top universities, the University of Nottingham and the University of Strathclyde, I began my career as a CAD instructor before transitioning into mechanical design roles across multiple industries. Working with global names like IMI and Sunseeker International, the UK’s premier luxury yacht builder, I witnessed first-hand the pain points companies face when outsourcing engineering solutions, part fabrication, or scaling their design capacity.
In some of the companies I worked with, particularly those involved in the manufacture of large equipment, we frequently outsourced factory equipment fabrication, but the high cost, lack of quality assurance, and limited local availability often left us frustrated. At the same time, I noticed a recurring struggle among companies: when workload surged, finding an extra pair of skilled hands, especially in design, was time-consuming and costly. Meanwhile, skilled fabricators with decades of experience were losing work due to a lack of in-house design or engineering validation and other technical expertise.
That’s when the idea clicked. I realized I could bridge these gaps, offering design support to manufacturers, fabrication solutions to designers, and peace of mind to clients looking for both. HT Metal Works was born from this very intersection, where design meets manufacturing, and where quality, cost-efficiency, and collaboration come together.
Today, through HT Metal Works, we help global clients, especially in the UK, by providing not just services, but solutions: bespoke mechanical design, simulation and design testing, custom fabrication with reliable international delivery. My commitment is personal; every project we take on reflects the same care and precision I once wished for as a design engineer on the other side of the table.
